Video projection on overhead sun shades, juxtaposing endlessly-looping footage of cruise missiles launched into Baghdad on the first night of the Gulf War with a shot loop of James Brown singing the word “Detroit” from the song “I Feel Good” and the cheering of American service personnel in Kuwait. This installation creates an eerie celebration of the oil-dependent American economy and the cost of maintaining it.
