Created as a celebration for the exhibition Corazon del Barrio or Heart of the Neighborhood, this piece features a human heart cast in lead accompanied by two knives engraved with an x. The x was used by the iconoclasts as a symbol for angles. The piece celebrated the heart of the Mission by celebrating the hearts of those who live in the neighborhood over the artifacts or buildings found in the Mission District.
