A spinning disco ball topped by a cowboy hat is accompanied by a futuristic country song about a trucker delivering a shipment of genetically engineered chickens to Mars and who is marveling at the stars. The mirrored ball is lit and installed to create both the atmosphere of a country lounge and the illusion of stars passing by the windows of a spacecraft. The work is based on the way in which the arrogance of Manifest Destiny continues today, cloaked in the mantle of space exploration and extraterrestrial science.
